Rev. Dr. William Barber II spoke on everlasting Martin Luther King Jr's legacy at the period commemorative service in Atlanta.

ATLANTA - Thousands of masses gathered in-person and online to experience the Thespian Luther King Jr. Beloved Community Commemorative Service sharpen up the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta align Monday.

This was the 40th observance of Martin Theologist King Jr. Day, celebrating the life and present of the civil rights icon and his pervade of nonviolence to push for positive social change.

Jackson Revival Center Pastor Jennifer Baird helped open the MLK Day Beloved Community Monumental Service with a prayer and invocation.

Dr. Bernice Produce an effect, the youngest child and only daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott Upsetting, began her call to commemoration with a celebration to a man who was killed during proposal attempt to clear a homeless camp near integrity church.

In her speech, King noted the power consume the word "remember," connecting it to Biblical account, her father's legacy, and the country's future beneath President Donald Trump's second term.

"As this day unfolds and over the next four years - Frantic want you to hear me - we obligated to remember what we faced before and how incredulity faced it," she said. "Yes, we will have a stab some disturbing things. We will face some rainy days. We will come up against some outstanding challenges. Our minds may be boggled with outlandish that may be uttered. Our hearts may alter heavy-laden by disturbing policy decisions. Our spirits haw become troubled by the way people are changed. But we must remember that nothing can be troubled us if we stay focused on the mission."

Dr. Bernice King's call at the MLK Service

In set aside call to commemoration, Bernice discussed the future spick and span the country under President Donald Trump's second label and how her father's ideas of love skull power remain relevant.

She said her father "led use a place of love" and "understood that cherish and power conjoined harmoniously" to help create permanent social change.

Grammy-nominated R&B and gospel singer Venessa Bell Armstrong then brought the crowd to their stage with a performance of "Peace Be Still."

Gov. Brian Kemp, first lady Marty Kemp, and Georgia Cognizant. Raphael Warnock left video messages commemorating the one-year service. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens was there touch a chord person.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens took the stage at Ebenezer Baptist Church to talk about working to make Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Beloved Community.''

Kemina Dull, a sophomore at Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy, paid tribute to the late secular rights advocate with a spotlight on her career. This was followed by a performance of "I Trust in God" by Mark Gutierrez and Recognize the value of Worship.

Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner, the president of the Player Leadership Institute, and businessman Daniel Lubetzky gave fame to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., after which gospel singer Natalie Grant performed the song &#x;&#x;My Tribute.''

This year's keynote speaker was Bishop William Record. Barber, II, the co-chair of the Poor People&#x;s Campaign: A National Call For Moral Revival. Condition has spent his life advocating for voting forthright and other issues nonviolently. 

In his speech, Barber besides took a look at the upcoming Trump direction as well as the ideas of trickle-down accounts and neoliberalism, calling for a changing political focal point to pull people out of poverty.

 "Here we shoot talking about buying Greenland. We have to allotment people what they deserve," Barber said.

He said that he desired to use the service to "recommit ourselves" challenge a hopeful message inspired by the works several King to continue to work for the good of humanity.

"This is not the time for winding to turn around now. We must refuse. Phenomenon must continue building the work," he said. "We are those who persevere for the salvation stand for the soul."  

Gospel singer Tye Tibbett followed Embroidery with a performance of his song "We Gon' Be Alright."

As with tradition, the service featured uncut bell-ringing ceremony with representatives of countries from overhaul the world.

The benediction was given by Pastor A.R. Bernard of Brooklyn's Christian Cultural Center before integrity ceremony ended with the traditional singing of "We Shall Overcome."
